Hour of 13 es una banda de doom heavy metal tradicional conceptualmente creada por el ex-VESTAL CLARET, el vocalista/compositor Philip Swanson (UPWARDS OF ENDTIME, SEAMOUNT) junto al tambien ex-miembro de SEVEN FOOT SPLEEN Chad Davis (también de Neurot Records U.S. CHRISTMAS y de larga lista de bandas de black metal como ANU y DEMONCY) cumpliendo las funsiones de guitarrista,bajista y baterista. Han editado su álbum debut bajo el nombre de la banda por Shadow Kingdom Records.

Unearthly Trance es un trío sludge metal/doom metal de Long Island / Brooklyn,Nueva York, compuesto por el vocalista-guitarrista Ryan Lipynsky, el bajista Jay Newman, y el baterista Darren Verni. Ellos se formaron en 2000 y han publicado mucho material en los principales sellos del género como Southern Lord, Rise Above Records y Relapse Records .
También son considerados por la crítica una de las principales bandas en escena doom metal y han estado de gira constantemente desde su fundación, después de haber compartido tour con bandas importantes como Sunn O))), Pelican, Electric Wizard y Morbid Angel. Su último álbum, "Electrocución" ha sido publicado recientemente por Relapse Records, y fue producido por Sanford Parker miembro de la banda de post-metal experimental Minsk.
Aunque se considerada una banda de doom metal, la música Unearthly Trance se inspira en otras formas de la música extrema como el black metal, death metal, crust punk y el drone.
Las letras suelen tratar temas de odio, muerte y lo ocultismo. Unearthly Trance también tiene momentos que incursiona en sonidos más experimentales desde ambient al noise , dándole a su música una visión mas introspectiva, oscura y progresiva .

Perplexa es la banda sonora de los reinos no descubiertos. Un simultáneo entrelazamiento de celebración y tragedia: un trance sinfónico, tribal forjado con guitarra etérea, cuerdas luminiscentes y momentos épicos hipnóticos.
Perplexa es una banda americana psicodélica arraigada en el movimiento de space rock de Detroit de los años 90´s. Perplexa comenzó como una colaboración experimental en un sótano de Ann Arbor, Michigan en 1994 entre algunos artistas. Fundador por el percusionista Robert Schurgin (W.I.G., West Indian Girl), juntos con el guitarrista Robert Schurgin (W.I.G., West Indian Girl)y el bajista Jenny Schmid, grabaron rápidamente su primer álbum "Perplexa", que fue lanzado en 1997 por Small Stone Records de Detroit.
Seguido en 1998 lanzan un EP, "This Glorious Forward". Wald y Schurgin luego entonces se unieron con el violoncelista Phil Myers para el tercer álbum del grupo, "The Sun and the Moon Getting It On” lanzado en 1999. Este álbum tuvo un reconocimiento merecido gracias a sus ritmos intensos, arreglos soñadores y texturas oscuras.
Mudados a Los Angeles, California, Wald y Schurgin inmediatamente comienzan a crear su grabación más expansiva y ambiciosa, "Gone Beyond”. Años en la creación, esta nueva grabación largamente esperada destaca al violoncelista Phil Myers, el bajista Chris Camacho (Forest for the Trees), el bajista William B. Skeletonwitch (usa) At One with the Shadows [2004]

Skeletonwitch es una banda de thrash/black metal de Athens, Ohio. Ellos actualmente forman parte del catalogo de Prosthetic Records. Ellos son considerados la parte de la "thrash revival" junto a bandas como Warbringer, Evile y Municipal Waste.
La voz de Skeletonwitch es característicamente en la vena death metal/black metal por parte del cantante Chance Garnette realizando tanto gritos guturales como los chillidos lo más alto posible. Estas voces son considerados por algunos como algo en contra de la mayoría de influencia NWOBHM en los riffs y solos de guitarra.
Otros lo ven como una nueva vision y nuevo comienza de tocar el estilo de aquel viejo metal europeo. Sumandole también el uso de la melodía.
La banda en cabezada por los hermanos Chance Garnette y el guitarrista Nate Garnette formo parte de uno de los cuatro actos de apertura del Blackest of the Black Tour 2008 (creado por el fundador de Danzig y el antiguo miembro de Misfits, Glenn Danzig).Otras bandas que incluyeron este tour fueron los populares noruegos de Dimmu Borgir y los propios Danzig.
Skeletonwitch recientemente realizo un tour junto a Cannabis Corpse.
La banda también ha sido destacada en las selectas revistas de heavy metal Decibel ( enero de 2008, numero 39), Revolver ( enero de 2008, numero 64), y Metal Maniacs (noviembre/diciembre. 2007, Vol. 24, No 12).

Cavity tiene base en Florida y eran defensores del género conocido como Sludgecore, y, aunque quizás menos conocido que sus pares Eyehategod y Crowbar, quizas esto los haya transformado en una banda de culto .
Formado en Miami a mediados de 1992 por el vocalista Rene Barge y el bajista Dan Gorostiaga, Cavity defendió un áspero, tortuoso sonido oponiéndose al paisaje optimista de su zona,sin una escena en que apoyarse y principalmente ser completamente el polo opuesto de la música disponible que domina los clubs locales y las radios.
Reclutando al guitarrista Raf Luna y numerosos bateristas, la banda comenzó a tocar en los pocos lugares donde los dejaran, pero igual al poco tiempo graban su primer 7 " seguido de un tour por la costa este como soportes de Eyehategod. Hacia 1995, el guitarrista Anthony Vialon (también conocido por su trabajo con Floor) y el baterista Jorge Alvarez se habían unido la lucha, y Cavity lanza su álbum debut “Human Abjection” editado únicamente en vinilo. Este material se vendió rápidamente de su edición inicial de 500 copias, pero más tarde fue reeditado en CD (con la suma del material del primer 7”) bajo el nombre de “Drowning” en 1996.

Un segundo álbum, “Somewhere between the Train Station…and the Dumping Grounds” fue lanzado más tarde ese año más un E.P. titulado “Laid Insignificant”. Pero a pesar de que las ventas eran cada vez mayores y las criticas especializadas eran positivas , la banda estuvo a punto de de derrumbarse, y tanto el baterista Alvarez como el fundador y cantante Barge decidieron marcharse.
Pese a todo Cavity había firmado con la etiqueta de Frank Kozik's, la renombrada Man's Ruin; resurgiendo con Gorostiaga y Vialon a la cabeza ( éste último asume el trabajo de las voces) con la ayuda de segundo guitarrista Ryan Weinstein y el baterista Henry Wilson.
Entran en Tapeworm Studios de Miami en el verano 1998, graban el álbum “Supercollider “que se significó un pico creativo y en su carrera. Sonando absolutamente equilibrado entre una mezcla entre Black Flag y Black Sabbath, el álbum recibe los elogios de los críticos especializados y es catalogado en muchas listas entre los diez mejores discos de 1999.
Esta euforia de medios de comunicación nunca fue traducida en ventas, sumado a la bancarrota de Man's Ruin, el destino de Cavity sería otra vez puesto a la deriva y a la incertidumbre. La banda temporalmente estancada y sus miembros tuvieron los habituales problemas financieros, emocionales y problemas con las drogas, pero finalmente, en 2001, Cavity reunida comenzó a ensayar juntos otra vez.
Destacando una formación cerca clásica con Barge, Vialon, Gorostiaga, Alvarez, junto al nuevo guitarrista Jason Landrian, la banda firma con Hydra Head Records lanzando “On the Lam” seguido de su definitiva disolución en el 2002.

Amenra es una banda para muchos de Sludge/Post-Metal formada en Bélgica (Kortrijk, Flandes Occidental) en el año 2003.
Amenra ofrece un oscuro, denso y pesado post-hardcore en la vena de Cult of Luna, Isis y Neurosis. Intenso, ruidoso y por momentos casi esférico.
Ricas texturas y contundentes riffs. Atronadores tonos bajos. Las voces crean un alto impacto despiadado y salpicado con una buena dosis de iconografía religiosa. Se unen en un bello tono siniestro de asombrosa proporción.

Whitehorse se forma a mediados de 2004 cuando el cantante Pete se junta con los guitarristas Dase y Brent, el baterista Emile, y Grover en efectos. El sonido dibujo una gama de influencias en Whitehorse y comenzó a formar la epopeya, el canciones ruidosas de puro sludge metal.
Comienzan haciendo shows alrededor de Melbourne con banda como Grey Daturas, Agents Of Abhorrence y otra bandas similares. Whitehorse pasada a hacer una grabación de su 4o y 5o show, la cual atrajo la atención del artista de Melbourne Seldon Hunt invitarodo a Whitehorse a abrir para Isis en Sydney en su primer tour australiano en febrero de 2005.
El cdr fue puesto en libertad en formato cd como “West Of The Sun / Ocean Turns To Black” con una edicion de 500 copias por el sello Sweat Lung con el arte por parte Brent Stegeman, incluyendo además “doom text" por Seldon Hunt. Este es documento un tanto áspero de los inicios de Whitehorse reunidos comentarios favorables por parte de Aquarius Records y Decibel Magazine.
Whitehorse comenzó a planificar una gira por Japón y se introdujeron cambios a la línea con el guitarrista Dase que dejar la banda y su lugar fue ocupado por Bob y también entra Simon que toma el trabajo de bajo.
En mayo la nueva formación grabada la pista 'Caverns' en vivo en el estudio para un Tour ep japonés publicado por Sweat Lung.
Durante los meses de junio / julio de 2005 la banda realiza 11 shows durante su tour japonés tocando con Ryokuchi, Palm, Birushanah y Corrupted entre otros.
Poco después la banda de retorno de Japón Brent y Bob dejan la banda y Yeap (Pisschrist, ABC Weapons) toma la guitarra.
En octubre de 2005 la nueva línea de Whitehorse regresa, haciendo de grupo soporte de bandas como Electric Wizard, Dismember y Pod People en Melbourne.
Desde el regreso Whitehorse grabó dos sesiones en Live To Air en PBS 107.5 FM en Melbourne y toco an shows junto con Artimus Pyle, Birushanah, Ryokuchi, Birchville Cat Motel & 1/3 Octave Band.
En octubre de 2006 Conspiracy Records, de Bélgica lanza 'Fire To Light The Way / Everything Ablaze' como parte de su de una serie de Lps festejando su 10º aniversario
Desde el lanzamiento del LP Whitehorse el baterista Emile tomado la decisión de mudarse a Los Ángeles y toco su última presentación con el grupo en Melbourne, Sydney en el festival Metal For The Brain Festival.
En su lugar entra Rob Mayson (Grey Daturas / Bone Sheriff / EOH, etc)y Ramez (ABC Weapons) en segunda guitarra. Whitehorse se embarca en junio-julio de 2007 en un tour por U.S.A en apoyo de un doble cd compilatorio publicado por 20 Buck Spin.
El tour americano de Whitehorse los llevo hasta la costa oeste tocando con grandes bandas como Giant Squid, Saviours, Iron Lung, Silentist, Wormwood y a través de la costa este con The Body, Tides, Unearthly Trance, Ocean, Angel Of Decay, Death By A Thousand Cuts Destructo Swarmbots, Javalina y muchos más, antes de regresar a Australia pasan por San Diego y Luisiana, donde tocan con Riververb, Swampus, Geronimo y otros.
Durante esta gira algunos miembros de Whitehorse tuvieron algunos problemas de salud que llevaron a un miembro a la hospitalización y la cancelación de un show previsto en DC. El resultado de la enfermedad causo que la banda esta parada por casi un año. En agosto-septiembre de 2008 comenzó Whitehorse a hacer algunos shows, pero de nuevo se han visto obligados a poner en suspenso las acciones hasta el año 2009 debido a los compromisos de los miembros de la banda con otros proyectos o asuntos de du vida personal.

Gravetemple es el nombre dado a la banda que cuenta en sus líneas con Attila Csihar, Stephen O'Malley y Oren Ambarchi. El trío fue formado en el verano de 2006 para llevar a cabo una serie de shows en vivo en Israel. Cabe mencionar que durante el tiempo que llevaba a cabo Gravetemple estos shows, Israel participó en la Guerra del Líbano de 2006.
En el verano de 2008, el trío se reforma con el baterista australiano Matt "Skitz" Sanders pora un breve gira europea. Esta banda no se debe confundir con Burial Chamber Trio, que cuenta con una formación similar-pero con Greg Anderson, en lugar de Stephen O'Malley. Gravetemple lanza “The Holy Down” en 2007 a través de Southern Lord Records.

Era el año 2001, la banda de metal-hardcore Damad se había separado, parte de sus miembros desean seguir haciendo música fuerte pero sin restringirse en un género determinado, Laura Pleasants, Corey Barhorst y Phillip Cope deciden que en este nuevo proyecto no debe haber un vocalista principal, ni ningún "frontman".
A inicios del año 2002 se edita el primer EP un 7" titulado "Kylesa" con Prank Records, a este seguiría un 7" compartido con Memento Mori. Kylesa toca en varios conciertos en localidades cercanas a su ciudad natal (Savannah, Georgia), en tanto continua lanzando material para el público subterráneo, entre los que se cuentan dos 7", un disco compartido con la banda noise-rock Cream Abdul Babar (editado por At a Loss recordings), y su primer CD de inicios del año 2003 bajo el auspicio de Prank records. En estos primeros trabajos muchos críticos darían como referente para el sonido de Kylesa, a bandas tan reconocidas como Buzz*oven, His Hero Is Gone y Nausea.
A finales del 2004, los miembros de Kylesa contactan con Prosthetic Records, con quienes logran firmar un contrato, para en el año 2005 editar su segundo albúm titulado "To Walk a Middle Course", producido por el padrino del noise-rock Alex Newport (Fudge Tunnel, Nailbomb). Esta placa lograría muy buenas críticas, así como giras con High on Fire, Darkest Hour, Planes Mistaken For Stars y Coliseum.
En el 2006, tras un intenso calendario de giras, Kylesa entra a grabar un nuevo albúm, esta vez arriesgando al tomar el ejemplo de los Melvins, reclutan a los bateristas Jeff Porter y Carl McGinley, con quienes graban "Time Will Fuse It´s Worth", su albúm que los lanza a participar de giras como Sound of the Underground, y Hot Chicks of Metal. Noothgrush se formó en la primavera de 1994 con Gary en bajo y voz, Tom en guitarra y Chiyo en la batería. Todos estaban en otras bandas que no están haciendo nada en ese momento y por tanto, Noothgrush nació. Luis Dávila pronto se unió como segundo bajista.
A principios de 1995, Luis anunció que se salía de la banda para unirse a Melting Euphoria, y después lo seguiría Tom dejando la banda muerta. Mr. Hate (aka Russ) Dj de KFJC fue la única persona que se ofreció a asumir el puesto de guitarrista, dando lugar a una próspera banda que durará 6 años más.
Matt Harvey también se suma como segunda guitarra durante un año al ser reemplazado por Gary, mientras que Al Ruel se hizo cargo del bajo también por un año. Han tocado 145 espectáculos, varias giras por los EE.UU. y Quebec durante 7 semanas, compartieron presentaciones con bandas como Corrupted, Seized, Wisigoth, Dystopia, Hellchild, Black Army Jacket, Twentythirdchapter, para nombrar unos pocos.
Tocaron en tres Festivales Fiesta Grande y tocaron la mayoría de las veces en 924 Gilman en Berkeley. También tocando con muchas grandes bandas como Grief, Cattlepress, Man Is The Bastard, Spazz, Abscess, Suffocation, Morgion, Burning Witch, Grave, Cluster Bomb Unit, His Hero Is Gone, High on Fire, Grimple, Logical Nonsense, Amber Asylum, Exhumed, Weakling, Asunder, El Dopa, Lachrymose, etc.
Noothgrush dejado de existir en 2001.
En septiembre de 2006, las 3 últimas sesiones de grabación fueron liberadas en una antología en formato CD por Throne Records.

Mudarse a una nueva ciudad no es nunca fácil y para la banda de Boston Tides, el proceso ha tomado más de 3 años. Nacido y criado en Nueva York en la ciudad de Plattsburgh, Donny Green, August Issacson y Rob Dowler han venido tocando en bandas desde hace mucho tiempo. Hace cuatro años Green se trasladó a Boston para asistir a la universidad y los otros dos miembros de la banda han sido poco a poco siguiendo su ejemplo. Este verano por primera vez los tres han vivido en el mismo lugar desde la escuela secundaria.
La banda ha estado tocando bajo este nombre durante cinco años y los miembros han desarrollado una relación fraternal. Su manera de tocar siempre ha sido sorprendentemente, evidentemente, su sonido ha madurado con el tiempo.
2005 marcó el lanzamiento de su álbum debut, “Resurface” que desde entonces ha recibido los elogios de la crítica como un monumento del post-metal. Seis épicas obras instrumentales, de una facilidad que sólo pueden evocar viejos amigos. Las canciones van desde sonidos etéreo y emocional a atronadores y destructivos, el álbum en su conjunto ha sido aclamado como uno de los mejores en el género.
El 2006 trae un nuevo CD EP y el debut de un nuevo miembro, Tim Fickeisen. “From Silence” cuenta de tres canciones en veinte minutos. Fickeisen, como segundo guitarrista, se solicitó para poder tocar las canciones en vivo. Muchas secciones de este nuevo material tiene la característica de tener varias capas de guitarras y efectos que de otra manera no podrían ser realizado fuera del estudio.
Con la nueva alineación y el nuevo disco en el camino, Tides se está preparando para un largo camino por delante. La banda salió de gira por U.S.A por dos meses en el verano en apoyo de “From Silence” para regresar a su nuevo hogar de New England.

Ogre (usa) Demo 2000 [2000]

Ogre se formó en 1999 cuando se unieron Ed, Ross y Will y juntos rápidamente escribieron y grabaron un demo de 4 canciones, cinta que obtuvo grandes elogios en el metal underground y en la comunidad stoner rock.
En el 2003, la banda lanzó su primer album, “Dawn of the Proto-Man”, que fue nombrado Álbum del Año por Peacedogman.com y también entro en el Top 5 Álbums Debut del 2003 por Chris Barnes en Hellridemusic.com. El disco hizo suficiente ruido que llamo la atención de Leafhound Records de Japón, quien lanzo el segundo disco de la banda, “Seven Hells” en el 2006 y su último trabajo “Plague of the Planet” en el 2008.
